Adrianópolis, in the South-Central Zone of Manaus, is the city's smart neighbourhood — leafy streets of mid-rise apartment blocks, embassies, the better restaurants, and a growing crop of craft-beer bars and cocktail lounges. It is the area where many of the city's foreign residents and professional families live.
For visitors, the practical interest is dinner. The eating-out options here are several notches above the centro, and the streets feel safer to walk in the evening. Avenida Mário Ypiranga is the main commercial spine. A short taxi ride from downtown.
