Bridge Phelippe Daou, often called the Rio Negro Bridge, is the great modern crossing west of Manaus. Its long cable-stayed span is a striking way to grasp the width of the river system and the scale of the road connection toward Iranduba and the lower Rio Negro.
For visitors it is more of a viewpoint and arrival experience than a pedestrian attraction. Cross by car or tour transfer when heading out of Manaus, and watch how quickly the dense city gives way to broad water and forested banks.
