Cruz e Sousa Palace

Cruz e Sousa Palace stands beside Praca XV de Novembro in the old centre of Florianopolis. Built in the 18th century as the governor's residence and office, it later took the name of the symbolist poet Cruz e Sousa.

The palace is worth a short stop for its historic rooms, ornate facade, and role in Santa Catarina's civic history. It pairs naturally with the cathedral, municipal market, and other downtown sights nearby.
