Praia Mole is one of Florianópolis's classic east-coast beaches, with soft sand, surf, dunes, and green hills pressing close behind it. It has a livelier, younger feel than some of the island's quieter coves, especially when the waves are working.
Come for beach time, surfing, or a walk that makes the island's geography obvious: lagoon behind, Atlantic in front, hills all around. Conditions can be strong, so treat the water with respect and check the local surf and lifeguard situation before swimming.
