The Bottle Restaurant, on the ground floor of the Cara Inn on Quamina Street, is one of the better wine-focused restaurants in the city. The menu is short and seasonal, mixing European technique with Guyanese ingredients — coconut-poached fish, slow-braised oxtail, pasta with local produce — and the wine list is unusually long for Georgetown.
The dining room is small and the lighting is low, so it works well for a special dinner. Book ahead, particularly at weekends. Service is professional and the kitchen pays attention to detail.
