Gayer-Anderson House Museum

The Gayer-Anderson House Museum occupies a pair of historic houses beside the Mosque of Ibn Tulun. The rooms preserve carved woodwork, mashrabiya screens, domestic spaces, and collections assembled by the British officer and Egyptologist R. G. Gayer-Anderson. It is one of Cairo's best places to understand elite domestic architecture at close range.
