Felucca captains operate directly from the Maadi Corniche, making this one of only three main felucca hire points in Cairo, alongside Zamalek and Garden City. Maadi's stretch of the Nile is quieter and greener than downtown, which makes for a more relaxed sail — sunset is the classic time to go.
Boats run from around 6am to 11pm and captains negotiate price on the spot; an hour is the usual length for a ride.
