Luis de Camoes Garden is one of Macau's largest and oldest public gardens, set on land once connected with the British East India Company. It later became associated with the Portuguese poet Luis de Camoes, whose bronze bust stands in the grotto.
The garden is a good pause from the denser streets of the peninsula. Locals come for tai chi, exercise, and quiet walks, while visitors usually head for the grotto and the shaded paths around it.
