Things to Do

Macau's UNESCO-listed historic centre is compact enough to walk across in an afternoon. The must-sees are the Ruins of São Paulo, Monte Fort (which also houses the Macau Museum), Senado Square, A-Ma Temple, and St Dominic's Church. The Guia Fortress on the peninsula's highest hill has the best views in Macau and the oldest Western-built lighthouse on the Chinese coast. For the other Macau, the Cotai Strip with the Venetian Macao at its heart is unmissable for the spectacle alone. Taipa Village and Coloane Village give a quieter, more local side of the territory. The Macau Tower offers the world's highest commercial bungee jump for those inclined.
