The Moorish Barracks were built in 1874 for an Indian regiment brought from Goa, and the building still looks unlike almost anything else in Macau. Its arched verandas, pale walls, and Indo-Islamic details make a good architectural pause near A-Ma Temple.
The barracks are now used by the Macau Maritime Authority, so the draw is the exterior rather than a museum visit. It is still worth the short detour if you are following Macau's old Portuguese route south.
