One of the largest single-person art collections in the world, assembled over decades by Mir Yousuf Ali Khan — Salar Jung III — who served as prime minister to the last Nizam. The collection spans Indian, Persian, Mughal, and European art: jade daggers, Bidriware metalwork, Italian marble sculptures, a remarkable collection of clocks including the famous double-faced Veiled Rebecca statue, and manuscripts in Arabic, Persian, and Urdu. It is sprawling and slightly overwhelming — allow at least half a day. The building on the south bank of the Musi is itself part of the old Hyderabadi fabric.
