The Telangana State Archaeology Museum is Hyderabad's main stop for older regional history. The collection runs from early Buddhist sculpture and Jain images to Nizam-era decorative arts, with enough variety to make it useful before visiting the city's forts, tombs, and bazaars. The building and displays are old-fashioned, but the artefacts are strong.
