The ISKCON temple on Chord Road in Rajajinagar is a major complex, completed in 1997 and one of the largest Hare Krishna temples in the world. The architecture blends neo-Dravidian temple forms with the scale of a modern cultural centre — it is more ambitious and more dramatically built than the average suburban ISKCON temple. The main shrine is dedicated to Radha-Krishnachandra, and the interior spaces are ornate, air-conditioned, and well maintained.
Beyond the temple itself, the complex includes a multi-screen theatre showing films on Vaishnava and Vedic subjects, a library, a large gift shop, and the Govinda's restaurant, which serves vegetarian food to the thousands of daily visitors. The free prasadam (consecrated food) distributed daily is genuinely good. The place is always busy; come early in the morning for the aarti ceremony if you want a quieter experience.
