Koramangala

Koramangala is Bangalore's startup district, the neighbourhood most associated with the city's tech and entrepreneurial boom. It has an unusually high density of co-working spaces, VC offices, and tech company headquarters for a residential area, and the restaurants and cafes here are calibrated to a younger, laptop-carrying crowd. Forum Mall on Hosur Road is a major anchor, and the surrounding streets have a good concentration of eating and drinking options.

The neighbourhood has a lively, young energy and a decent number of good restaurants — including some of the city's better pan-Asian and European options alongside the South Indian staples. It is spread out and the traffic can be bad; an auto-rickshaw is more practical than walking between the different parts. If you're in Bangalore for startup culture or want to understand how the tech economy has reshaped the city, spending an afternoon in Koramangala gives the clearest picture.
