St. John's Church is one of Bangalore's older Protestant churches, a red-brick building with a tall steeple rising out of a leafy compound. It is not one of the city's headline sights, but it gives a quieter look at the colonial-era religious architecture scattered through the old cantonment side of Bangalore.
Pause at the memorial in front of the church, which records members of the congregation who died in the First World War. The church is best visited as part of a walk through the eastern central neighbourhoods rather than as a trip across town on its own.
