Sadar Bazaar is the modern shopping street in the Cantonment area south of the fort, with western-style cafes, leather goods shops, restaurants, and a busy evening street life. It is where most travellers staying in the southern hotel district end up for dinner.
It lacks the atmosphere of Kinari Bazaar but is easier on first-time visitors — fixed-price shops, English-speaking staff, and a row of restaurants of all budgets. The famous Sheroes Hangout cafe — run by survivors of acid attacks — is nearby on Tajganj Road.
