The Qavam quarter, just east of the central bazaar, was the residential district of one of the wealthiest Qajar merchant families in Shiraz. Today it is a small pocket of narrow lanes around the two great Qavam mansions — Naranjestan and Zinat-al-Molk — with a scattering of other restored houses, small workshops, and tea-houses.
It is less developed than Sang-e Siah but quieter, and is one of the better areas to walk in the late afternoon. Combine with visits to the two Qavam houses and the bazaar a short walk west.
