The Spring of Saadi is a clear pool fed by an underground stream, in a stone-lined chamber a short walk from the Tomb of Saadi. The water is full of large fish, and the chamber sits half underground, its steps leading down into the cool dark. The pool has been a destination for visitors since at least the Qajar period.
The site is small and undramatic — five minutes will see it — but combined with a long sit in the gardens of Saadi's tomb next door it makes for a quietly atmospheric corner of the city. Worth the short detour for anyone already up at the tomb.
