Bibi Dokhtaran — "the Lady of the Daughters" — is a small 12th-century mausoleum buried deep in the alleys of the old city, just north of the bazaar. The square brick tomb chamber is topped by a dome of distinctly Seljuk profile, one of the few surviving examples of pre-Mongol architecture in Shiraz.
The site is venerated locally as the resting place of a saintly noblewoman, and it remains a working shrine. It is rarely on tourist itineraries, which is part of its quiet charm: drop in for ten minutes between the Pink Mosque and Shah Cheragh, and you will likely have it to yourself.
