Hwangnidan-gil

A street of cafes, restaurants, and small boutiques that has developed around the back of the Daereungwon tomb park — Gyeongju's equivalent of Seoul's Bukchon Hanok Village, but quieter and less self-consciously touristy. The street runs between the tomb mounds and Hwangseong Park, with independent coffee shops, craft beer bars, and Korean restaurants occupying restored hanok buildings and newer structures.

It is a good place to eat and drink after visiting the tombs — particularly in the evening when the mounds are lit. The juxtaposition of the ancient royal burial ground and the contemporary cafe culture gives the street an appealing anachronistic character.
