Oksan Seowon is a Confucian academy founded in 1572 and one of the components of the UNESCO-listed Seowon, Korean Neo-Confucian Academies. Fourteen historic buildings survive, giving a good sense of how elite scholarship, ritual, and landscape design were tied together in Joseon-period Korea.
