A 2016 conversion of a 19th-century townhouse into one of the best photography museums in Southeast Europe. The permanent exhibition rotates around 200 prints from the Marubi family archive — Albania between 1858 and 1944, photographed across three generations — alongside displays on the photographers' techniques and equipment.
The prints are exceptional: studio portraits of the late Ottoman elite, candid shots of village life in the Albanian Alps, formal photographs of the early 20th-century independence movement. English captions throughout. Allow at least 90 minutes; the museum is small but every print rewards close looking.
