CEPAC Silo is one of Marseille's better examples of industrial reuse: a former grain silo near the docks converted into a large performance hall. The building keeps something of its port-city roughness while functioning as a modern venue for concerts, comedy, dance, and touring productions.
It is most useful to travellers when there is an event on, but the venue also helps explain how the northern waterfront has shifted from working harbour edge to cultural corridor. Combine it with the Joliette and Euroméditerranée area if you want to see the Marseille that has grown around the old port infrastructure rather than only the postcard Vieux-Port.
