One of the oldest covered markets in Marseille, Halle Puget sits on the small Place Bertas and dates from 1672. It was designed by Pierre Puget, the Marseille-born sculptor and architect, though his brother Jean oversaw the actual construction while Pierre was living in Toulon. The traditional stone market hall now hosts a small daily flower and produce market surrounded by cafe terraces. It's a quiet spot away from the busier Vieux-Port area, worth a stop if you're exploring the Belsunce quarter.
