Dreikönigskirche

The Church of the Three Kings is the most striking landmark of the Sachsenhausen riverfront — a slender Gothic Revival church of red Main sandstone with an 80-metre spire, designed by Franz Josef Denzinger and completed in 1881 on the site of a much earlier medieval chapel. It is the parish church of Sachsenhausen and one of the most photographed buildings in Frankfurt because of its position right on the south bank of the river, directly opposite the Römerberg.

The interior is Neo-Gothic in the strict 1880s manner — vaulted nave, stained-glass windows by Alexander Linnemann, ornate carved choir stalls. The church is generally open during daylight hours; small donations welcome. Free organ recitals on Saturday afternoons during the summer.
