The 200-metre Main Tower is the fourth-tallest building in Frankfurt and the only one with a public viewing platform — the observation deck on the 56th floor offers a 360-degree view across the city, the Taunus mountains to the north, and on a clear day as far as the Spessart and Odenwald in the south. The lift takes 45 seconds. The view is best at dusk when the office windows of the surrounding towers begin to light up.
The Main Tower also has a restaurant and bar on the 53rd floor, a level below the deck — reservations strongly recommended for a window table. Open daily, but check seasonal hours in winter when the deck closes at 7pm. Entry around 9 euros; the restaurant is genuinely good and the prices, given the view, are not unreasonable.
