Freibad an der Falkenwiese

Freibad an der Falkenwiese is a historic open-air swimming bath on the Wakenitz, east of Lübeck's old town. Dating from the late 19th century, it still uses natural river water rather than the standard chlorinated-pool setup.

It is best in warm weather, when it works as both a swim stop and a piece of local heritage. The appeal is simple: wooden bathing structures, river water, and a setting that feels far removed from the brick churches and merchant houses of the old centre.
