Lena's House

A preserved 19th-century merchant's house in Mykonos Town, maintained and operated as a small museum by the local folk art society. The house belonged to Lena Skrivanou, a merchant's wife, and has been left in the style of the late 1800s: furniture, textiles, kitchen equipment, and personal objects arranged as if the family had just stepped out. It gives a vivid picture of what a prosperous Mykonian household looked like before tourism changed everything.

The house is compact and easy to miss — look for the sign near the waterfront area of Chora. Opening hours are limited; it is typically open in the late afternoon and evening. Admission is inexpensive. Combined with the Folklore Museum and the Aegean Maritime Museum, it makes for a useful morning of cultural context before the beach.
