The third of the Reykjavík Art Museum's three sites, Ásmundarsafn is the studio-house of the sculptor Ásmundur Sveinsson — a striking white-domed building of his own design, surrounded by a garden of his sculptures, on a quiet street east of the centre.
Sveinsson's work moves from heroic figures of fishermen and workers in the 1930s to almost abstract geometric pieces in the 1960s. The outdoor garden is free and open year-round; the indoor museum is included on the Reykjavík Art Museum ticket.
