Former harbour warehouses reborn as breweries and galleries

Address Grandagarður, Reykjavik

Reykjavik's former industrial harbour spit, now the city's most interesting recent neighbourhood. Old fish-processing sheds and warehouses have been taken over by craft breweries, design studios, an ice-cream shop in a former bait factory, the Marshall House contemporary art space, the Whales of Iceland museum, and the Saga Museum. A flea market runs on the harbour at weekends.

It is a fifteen-minute walk west from Harpa along the water.
