Palazzo della Borsa

Ornate neoclassical stock exchange building facing Piazza De Ferrari

The former Stock Exchange, built between 1907 and 1912, is one of the most ornate buildings on Piazza De Ferrari. The neoclassical facade is covered in allegorical figures, columns, and decorative stonework that reflects the confidence of the Genoese financial world at the turn of the century. The trading floor inside — a vast, column-ringed hall with a coffered ceiling — is occasionally open for events and visits.

The building is now occupied by commercial offices and cultural spaces. The exterior is the main attraction, best seen from the piazza opposite the fountain, where the full width of the facade comes into view.
