The Ambrosian Gallery and Library is one of Milan's great scholarly and artistic institutions. Its collections include paintings, manuscripts, and the Biblioteca Ambrosiana, famous for holding Leonardo da Vinci's Codex Atlanticus.
It is a quieter stop than the Duomo or the big fashion streets nearby, but it rewards visitors who like old libraries, Renaissance art, and the intellectual side of Milan.
