Milan's main public park, laid out in English landscape style in the 1880s on the grounds of the Visconti and Sforza duchies behind Castello Sforzesco. It covers 47 hectares and is the green heart of central Milan — used by locals for jogging, picnics, and Sunday walks. The park contains several notable structures: the Torre Branca observation tower (Gio Ponti, 1933), the Arco della Pace at the northern end, and the Arena Civica (a 19th-century outdoor amphitheatre still used for events).

The park connects naturally to the Castello Sforzesco at the southern end. A pleasant circuit takes in the castello courtyard, the park, the Torre Branca, and the Arco della Pace — about two hours at a leisurely pace.
