Torenfort aan de Ossenmarkt

Torenfort aan de Ossenmarkt is a round brick fort beside the Vecht in Weesp, built in 1861 as part of the defensive works around Amsterdam. Cross the wooden bridge for the best view of its compact circular form.

Behind it are the older bastions of Bakkerschans and Nieuw Achtkant, with a look toward the windmills. It is a quiet stop rather than a major sight, but it adds a good dose of military history to a wander through Weesp.
