Agder Natural History Museum and Botanical Garden

A small natural history museum and an outdoor botanical garden, set in the grounds of a former estate at Gimle on the north side of the city. The garden is the more interesting half — a walled rose garden, a section devoted to coastal plants of southern Norway, and good labelling throughout. The museum has the standard regional Norwegian collection of geology, taxidermied wildlife and prehistory.

Half an hour's walk from the cathedral or a short bus ride. Free entry to the garden; small fee for the museum.
