Coe Fen

Coe Fen is the semi-wild green space south of Cambridge's college core, where the River Cam slips through rough grass, footpaths, and grazing land. It feels looser and quieter than the manicured college backs, with cows in the meadows in summer and a sense of countryside arriving before the city has quite ended.

It is best as part of a walk from the Fitzwilliam Museum or the Backs toward Grantchester. Come here when central Cambridge feels too polished or too crowded.
