University Museum of Zoology

The University Museum of Zoology displays recent and fossil animals from collections built up since 1814. The museum is especially strong on anatomy, evolution, and specimens linked with Cambridge science, including material collected by Charles Darwin.

It is central, free, and good for families, but also detailed enough for visitors who want more than a quick look at skeletons and cases.
