Chatham Square

Chatham Square is one of the quieter squares in Savannah's historic grid, laid out in 1847 near the western side of the old city. Gordon Row, with its tall brick townhouses, gives the square its strongest architectural edge.

It is not as famous as Chippewa or as grand as Forsyth Park, but it rewards a slow walk through the residential part of the historic district. Use it as a shaded pause between Jones Street, Barnard Street, and the Victorian blocks nearby.
