Crawford Square is not Savannah's grandest square, and that is part of its appeal. Set on the east side of the historic district, it feels more residential than ceremonial, with trees, paths, and the unusual detail of a basketball court inside the square.
It is worth including if you are walking Savannah beyond the best-known postcard stops. The square helps show how the Oglethorpe plan works as everyday urban fabric, not just as a set of monuments. Come while wandering between the colonial cemetery, eastern lanes, and quieter blocks toward East Broad Street.
