Alki Beach Park is West Seattle's classic waterfront escape, with a long sandy beach, a paved walking and cycling path, and wide views across Elliott Bay toward downtown Seattle.
It is busiest on warm afternoons, when people come for beach walks, volleyball, picnics, and sunsets over the Olympic Mountains. The strip across the road has cafes and casual places to eat, so it works well as a half-day outing.
