National Nordic Museum

The National Nordic Museum in Ballard tells the story of Nordic immigration to Seattle and the wider Pacific Northwest. Its permanent collection covers migration, work, domestic life and cultural identity, with rotating exhibitions that often bring in contemporary Nordic art and design.

The museum fits Ballard particularly well, because the neighbourhood was shaped by Scandinavian fishing and maritime communities. Pair it with the Ballard Locks or a walk through old Ballard for a fuller sense of the area's history.
