Nihonmachi Alley is a small but pointed reminder of Seattle's old Japantown, which once stretched across many more blocks of the International District. Murals and outdoor exhibits tell the story of local businesses that survived the World War II incarceration of Japanese Americans and the neighbourhood's uneven recovery afterward.
It is a short stop, but a worthwhile one if you are already visiting the Wing Luke Museum, Uwajimaya, or the historic streets around King and Jackson.
