Golden Gardens Park is Seattle's best west-facing beach park, tucked below Ballard on Puget Sound. The water is cold, but the sandy beach, driftwood, fire pits, and views toward the Olympic Mountains make it one of the city's strongest places for a sunset.
Come for a beach walk, a picnic, or a slow evening watching sailboats and windsurfers pass Shilshole Bay. On clear days the mountain view is the reason to make the trip.
