Discovery Park

Discovery Park is Seattle's largest city park, a former military reservation turned into a broad sweep of forest, meadow, bluff, and beach on Magnolia. The loop trails give you a rare amount of space inside the city, with views across Puget Sound to the Olympics on clear days.

The best walk drops from the upland paths down toward West Point Lighthouse and the beach. It takes more time than the map suggests, but that is the point: Discovery Park is where Seattle stops feeling urban for a while.
