Seattle Asian Art Museum fills the original Art Deco home of the Seattle Art Museum in Volunteer Park. The collection is strongest on Chinese and Japanese art, with rotating exhibitions that widen the focus across Asia and the Middle East.
The building is part of the appeal. Its calm, geometric rooms make a good counterpoint to the busier downtown museum, and Volunteer Park gives the visit a little breathing room.
