Warren G. Magnuson Park spreads across the former Sand Point Naval Air Station on the shore of Lake Washington. It is one of Seattle's largest parks, with open lawns, beaches, boat access, wetlands, sports fields, and old military buildings reused by community groups.
The park is worth the trip if you want space, water, and a less postcard-polished side of Seattle. The shoreline is good for a slow walk, and the airfield remnants give the place more character than a standard city park.
