The Nanchang Army Museum (陆军博物馆, formerly the Army Infantry College Museum) covers the history of Chinese ground forces from the Nanchang Uprising to the present day. The outdoor exhibits include tanks, artillery pieces, and military vehicles that can be examined at close range. Indoor galleries cover the major campaigns of the PLA's history with maps, weapons, uniforms, and equipment.
The museum sits adjacent to the Army Infantry College campus in the western part of the city. It's the kind of collection that rewards visitors interested in military history, twentieth-century Chinese politics, or simply the scale of the PLA's transformation from an irregular guerrilla force in 1927 to one of the world's largest armies.
