A folk arts museum on the north side of town with a fine collection of puppets, masks, costumes and folk paintings from across Rajasthan and Gujarat. The galleries are old and a bit dusty, but the puppets in particular are wonderful — full-bodied wooden figures in painted Mewari court dress.
Each afternoon there is a short live puppet show, performed in an open courtyard with old strings and well-worn marionettes; expect to laugh more than you would have predicted. Entry is a few rupees and the show is included.
