Shofuku-ji

The fourth of Nagasaki's Chinese-founded Obaku Zen temples, built in 1677 by the Cantonese community to round out a temple for each of the four southern Chinese provinces represented in the city's foreign quarter. The grounds include a serene moss garden and a small graveyard with stones engraved in both Japanese and Chinese. Shofuku-ji sees few visitors compared to Sofuku-ji ten minutes south, which is part of its charm.
