A small natural-history museum on the campus of Prithvi Narayan College on the eastern side of Pokhara. The collection is modest but the butterfly room is a genuine highlight — over 600 species pinned to display boards, covering most of the showy lepidoptera of the Nepalese Himalaya. There are also dioramas of the region's mammals and birds, and a small geology section.
Entry is free or token-priced; staff are mostly students. Open weekdays, closed for college holidays. It is the kind of unfussy, slightly old-fashioned institution that you stumble onto on a half-day off and end up enjoying more than you expected.
